The garden and peaceful setting made a lovely first impression at Stafford Guest House. We stayed in the spacious four-poster room, which was tastefully decorated and felt both comfortable and a little luxurious, with lovely views over the garden. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly, and shared helpful local tips over some enjoyable conversation. They explained everything when we arrived, so settling in was easy. Breakfast was delicious and generous, and The Boot & Shoe Inn is a charming village pub a short walk away. We'd happily recommend it for a relaxing stay.

Hazel and Ian made sure we enjoyed our visit, even though it was much too short. Hazel explained the House's connection to the Castle, and nothing was too much trouble for either of them. The room was very well appointed, with thoughtful touches like the tea-making setup and fridge. Breakfast the next morning was superb, piping hot and very well cooked. Hazel was attentive throughout. We'd highly recommend Stafford House and Hazel and Ian for a relaxing stay, long or short.

It's always a pleasure to stay here, and the location is ideal for exploring the Lake District. The lodges are spotless, with comfortable beds, and work perfectly for me and the dog. Hazel is so welcoming and friendly. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, and there's breakfast cereal, jam, orange juice, milk, tea and coffee, plus plenty more. Thanks again from Lucy & Bud 🐶

Hazel seems to have set the rooms up with the things she'd want to find herself, and it really makes the place stand out. We were in the deluxe four-poster room in lovely Greystoke village. The building is beautiful, the owners are lovely, and breakfast was fantastic. It feels like a guesthouse run to hotel standards. Couldn't ask for more, and I can't recommend it highly enough. If you're staying nearby, give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

We had a fabulous three-day break at Stafford House, and Hazel and Ian were wonderful hosts. The accommodation was beautiful and exceptionally clean. Breakfasts were amazing, with loads of choice and huge portions. Hazel deserves so much credit for the way she runs the hotel. We'd definitely stay again if we travel to the Lakes and would highly recommend it to family and friends. Thank you, Hazel, for making our stay perfect.
