Albert Hotel

The staff were friendly throughout, and the chef made sure I could enjoy Peterhead fish and chips despite needing gluten-free food. We also had a comfortable visit with family in the little pub area. The place has an old-fashioned charm, from the china on display to the coal fire in the dining room and bar. Our boxed breakfast was waiting in the fridge, and the whole property was clean and well cared for. It's an easy walk from the bus station, and there's a nearby brewery with gluten-free beer and lovely people. Just what I hoped for from a small hotel in a small Scottish town. We'd happily recommend it.

We didn't stay at the hotel, but had a great time in the restaurant and bar. The food was tasty and the portions generous. The owner and staff looked after us so well that we'll definitely return.

We had a lovely meal catching up with friends after lockdown. The staff were polite and helpful without hovering, and every plate was cleared. There was a good choice of dishes, including lamb shanks, beef steak pie, chicken in creamy sauce, chicken Maryland, and fish and chips. The portions were a decent size, and the puddings were good too. I'd recommend it and we'll be back 😁

It's a friendly, welcoming place, and the staff are always ready to help. The coffee, fancies, and meals are all very nice. It's not a grand hotel, but it feels homely and comfortable. Access was the downside for me: there are steps at the entrance, though they have a portable ramp if you tell them ahead of time. I couldn't find an accessible toilet, though that doesn't mean there isn't one. I used the regular gents, and my bad hip suddenly wouldn't hold my weight. With no grab bars in that general toilet, I thought I'd need to call for help, but managed after a real struggle. Even so, I'd recommend stopping by for coffee, a meal, or a quiet drink. It's got a peaceful, well-established feel, with the calm and efficiency that come from years of practice.
