The staff made our one-night stay at the Forest of Vale feel special. The desk lady was lovely, the bar staff were polite, and the woman serving breakfast was really attentive and professional. The building itself has loads of charm, and the service was fantastic. I’d happily go back, hopefully in summer so we can sit out in that lovely garden. Honestly, I’d give it six stars if I could.

We’ve already booked again, and might even fit in another visit before then. The room was lovely, and both dinner and breakfast were fantastic. The whole team was so friendly, from check-in and being shown to the room through to the wait staff, bar team and cleaners. It’s an easy walk into the centre and a handy base for exploring the North and East Coast attractions. Definitely recommend it.

We weren’t staying at the hotel, but they were happy to book us a table when we reserved ahead. The food was delicious, with generous portions that were still manageable, and we even found room for dessert. Drinks were good value too, especially since we expected hotel-chain prices to be higher. The interior is lovely, and every staff member we met was friendly. We’d happily eat here again when we’re in the area.

The bed was very comfortable and I slept really well. Everyone working there was lovely and helpful, and I’d stay again when I’m back in the Ryedale area. The hotel is easy to spot from the road, though a sign pointing to the car park would help. If you miss the turn and carry on, there’s a rather good Lidl. True story! I didn’t eat dinner or breakfast, so can’t comment on the food, though the choice looked plentiful.

Breakfast and evening meals had a good range of choices. The room was clean and comfortable, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. I’d certainly recommend staying here in Pickering, and we’d be happy to come back.
