We’re local, but booked a night here as a treat so we could spend more time with family who were visiting from out of the area. The Rose and Crown was a great find, and we’d happily come back for Sunday lunch. Our room was modern, bright and airy, with everything we needed for a comfortable night. It was presented really nicely, with some lovely little touches. The team were friendly and the atmosphere felt relaxed. Dinner was freshly cooked, proper food, with generous portions and delicious. Breakfast was just as good, with local ingredients and, just as importantly, great coffee. Definitely good value for money.

We came in on the off chance, without having planned a visit, and were seated very quickly by a great host. The interior has a traditional style, though the pub itself isn’t old. There was a good selection of standard pub food, cooked well and served in plentiful portions. Between the three of us, the bill came to nearly £67 without alcoholic drinks. A great find and well worth trying.

Neil the landlord gave me a very warm welcome when I arrived for my one-night stay. The modern room was clean and lovely, with a TV, bottled water, tea and coffee facilities, and biscuits. A lovely full English breakfast was included the next morning. I was really pleased with my stay and would definitely return if I’m in the area.

Set in the village, this pub had a great atmosphere and wasn’t too busy. The food was lovely and served nice and hot, and the service was good.

A great place to stay, and well located for getting around. My room was as good as, if not better than, any I’ve stayed in. Breakfast was spot on too. I can’t wait to return and explore Dorset again.
