The price was reasonable, which was a nice bonus. Staff were helpful and friendly, and breakfast was outstanding, with lots of choice and everything cooked perfectly. The bedrooms were lovely and the bedding very comfortable. Great location for the beach, and about a 10-minute bike ride to the main town.

All the rooms are different at this lovely little boutique hotel in the Southsea area of Portsmouth. It’s an easy walk to the lake and beachfront, and a five-minute drive into the city centre. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious with generous portions. Highly recommend.

We stayed on 1st November and were really disappointed. The whole experience fell far below what we expected. There was loud noise and arguing from the room above all evening, and although we reported it, nobody at the hotel dealt with it. Our TV didn’t work. Reception said someone would come to fix it, but no one came. Later, we were told the wires had been stolen before we arrived, which was concerning. The jacuzzi tub was leaking and didn’t work properly, a major disappointment since it was one of the main reasons we booked the room. The bar had hardly any choice, and the room felt tired and poorly maintained, with marks on the floors and walls and generally dated décor. The stay wasn’t worth the money, and the room and service were unacceptable. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend it.

The price was very reasonable, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great, the rooms were lovely, and the staff were friendly. It felt much nicer than the chain places like Travelodge and Premier Inn. I stopped overnight before catching the ferry to France, but I'd happily stay longer if I needed to be in the area.
