There were no staff around when we checked out, so we had to call a number and were told to leave the key at the desk. The rooms were dirty, and my partner had to clean the shower before using it. They kept our £50, saying there was sick on the sheet and they couldn’t rent the room out, even though every room was empty. Having to pay a £50 deposit after booking is a joke. It felt like a ghost town, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

They went out of their way to fit me in at very short notice, an absolute lifesaver. It was a wonderful stay, and I’ll definitely stay there again next time I’m in Preston.

We drove up from London in awful conditions for the football at Preston, so we were tired and stressed. The hotel was a pleasant surprise, and the bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve slept in, even though we travel and stay in hotels all over the country. The room felt just right, neither too basic nor too OTT. There’s plenty of free parking. Breakfast isn’t buffet style, but the full English is plentiful, with cereals and great real coffee. The staff we met were all lovely and friendly, and checked everything was okay. The woman serving breakfast joked with us about our dismal result. The location’s great, and we’d definitely stay again next time we’re up. We also saw a previous review complaining that staff banged on the door at midnight and shouted in front of the reviewer’s children, while saying the children didn’t stay. That doesn’t add up, so I reckon the rest of that poor review was lies. Don’t let those stupid negative reviews put you off.

Parking was plentiful and convenient, and the area was quiet at night, so we had a restful stay at the Claremont. We booked that same evening through Booking, only a few hours before arriving, after calling ahead to check the reservation would be received. The room was spacious and comfortable, with shower soaps, tea and coffee, and a kettle. The place was easy to find your way around, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was filling, with lots of fresh hot and cold options.

The full English breakfast was lovely, and the staff were really friendly. Rooms are a bit dated, but clean, comfortable and have all the amenities you need.
