The afternoon tea was a lovely result, with real variety, artistry, and precision from the chef and team. Chef Lukasz came out to say hello and share a few personal tips, and it was an honour to meet him as the hotel’s culinary ambassador. The calm, inviting atmosphere added to it, and the alternative menu had plenty of choices, including tea from Rwanda and the Himalayan region. At the Press Launch for the “wicked afternoon tea,” James gave us the warmest welcome, and Tommy, our Nigerian waitress, kept checking that we were comfortable and brought a great sense of humour. Manager Mario confirmed the dietary requirements and shared some knowledgeable details about the collaboration and its elements. Hearing about the hotel’s ethos and the thinking behind the interior design was insightful. It all showed inclusivity, diversity, and culture. I’ll certainly recommend it to friends and family. We’re back home now, still praising the hotel staff. GIRISH went out of his way to arrange a fire downstairs, even though October 8 was a little early in the season. He found someone to help and made it happen, and the two Texas ladies were very grateful for his kindness at the start of our three-week road trip around Ireland. It’s a beautiful hotel in a great location.

We hired a meeting room the morning of our wedding so we could meet our wedding party, who weren’t staying at the hotel. The staff helped us find the right room and provided whatever we needed, including mirrors. Nishi at reception looked after us throughout the weekend and even left a handwritten card to congratulate us. The hotel sits just outside Richmond Park, which made it perfect for our park wedding. We stayed two nights in the suite, a beautiful room with nothing to fault.

The noise made it impossible to sleep. There was a private event in the ballroom, with karaoke so loud the floor vibrated, and it went on until 2am. We weren’t told before check-in how noisy it would be or how long it would last. I had paid extra and expected a better stay. I also had to give up our table at the bar because of the private hire. The hotel should close bookings when there’s a private event. I contacted the front desk late at night and had to change rooms. The night duty manager seemed to know little about the hotel’s room types and wouldn’t accept that the new room was a downgrade, despite the clear differences in quality and amenities. The day manager dealt with it the next day, acknowledged the problem, and made specific promises of compensation in person. Those promises weren’t fully kept, which was deeply disappointing. Poor communication, inconsistent handling, and unreliable follow-through made this a very disappointing experience.
