We had a great stopover, with the A1(M) just minutes away and views across to Richmond castle. The rooms were huge, warm, and comfortable, and there’s easy off-street parking. The owners made us feel right at home. The pub is welcoming too, with a good choice of local ales and hearty food.

I’d been a little nervous about ordering eight takeaway Christmas dinners, wondering if the food would be alright or whether there’d be enough. Joanne and her team sorted it out beautifully. The meat was tender and delicious, the vegetables cooked just right, and there was plenty left for sandwiches and a fry-up. One of the best Christmas dinners we’ve had. Thanks for making the day stress-free 😁. Please save me a place on next year’s list!

We stopped here on the way to Richmond for a beer and dinner, and it turned out to be a lovely find. The pub was clean, with accommodation, a beer garden, and a pool room. Staff were helpful and friendly, and it welcomes dogs. We paid £9.20 for two pints, meals were around £14, and sweets £4.95. There’s a great view of Richmond CastIe from the garden. We’ll come back next time we’re nearby. Photos are on the website. 😁
