Bedford Arms Hotel

We were travelling from Folkestone to Derbyshire and spent one night at the Bedford Arms. Breakfast was the highlight: I had a full English, my wife chose Eggs Royale, and both were superb. Service was excellent, too. We arrived too late for dinner, so I can't comment on the evening food. Our room was lovely, spotlessly clean and well equipped, with a very comfortable bed. We'd definitely stay again.

Breakfast was cooked to order and seemed to use great quality produce, and the views around the hotel were lovely. It also sits well away from noise, with people walking nearby, so it seems a good spot for exploring. I was especially taken with the unofficial pub cat, who was about during the day and night. I'd booked the ‘Bigger Comfy’ room for a wedding without knowing what to expect. The four poster bed, views over the local fields and double shower were more than I could have hoped for. The decor suited the hotel and made the spacious room feel cosy. I was told the heating wasn't working, but there were two radiator heaters in the room; it was so warm that I didn't need to use them overnight. The bathroom was a masterpiece, beautifully decorated, and that shower was something else. I was gutted to be staying only one night. It was a wonderful place, and I'd happily return.

The pub downstairs was absolutely fantastic, and every staff member was friendly. We had plenty of room for our two big dogs, and the room itself was great. My girlfriend, the dogs and I were there for a wedding over the weekend, and we had such a lovely time that we'll try to come back. Also, the Guinness was 10/10.

Dave, Kirsty and the team made sure our wedding party at the Bedford Arms went smoothly. Nobody was left hungry or thirsty, and they found space for a band so we could dance the night away. Thank you all for a perfect weekend. The rooms were beautiful, warm and cosy, with gorgeous views. We'd love to stay again. Mr & Mrs Wilson :)
