The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was the usual sort, neatly laid out. I only needed a room for one night before an early meeting, and it did the job, but I wouldn’t choose it for a longer stay. The curtains were coming off their hooks and wouldn’t open or close. Since the room faced the main road and didn’t seal well, I could hear all the noise from the front of the hotel.

We were really pleased with the pool, spa and gym. It’s unusual for a budget hotel to have a sauna and jacuzzi, and the adults could take turns relaxing while the other stayed in the pool with the kids. There was plenty of parking, and Meadowhall was just 10 minutes away for a shopping trip with the children. Our family room was much bigger than we expected, with two queen beds, a double sofa bed already made up, a small table with four chairs, and another with two. Everyone had room to move around and the children could play. The bath and shower gels and body lotion were good quality. We visited in December 2025 as a vegan family of two adults and three children. The menu had a good range of choices and clear dietary information. Staff were always smiling and helpful. We had a slightly complicated dinner order because of the kids’ fussiness and allergies, but everything arrived fresh and exactly as requested. It was refreshing to have so much choice when eating out. I’d highly recommend the hotel to families looking near Sheffield.

The receptionist who helped us leave was very caring when I said my daughter had been unwell overnight, and offered us supplies for the two-hour drive home. We’d had to leave early, so unfortunately we missed out on the pool. We stayed after an event at the Sheffield arena with my nine-year-old daughter. The drive over was simple, which helped in the awful weather, and the room was reasonably priced with what we needed for a pleasant stay. Check-in was easy, and the woman at the desk was very friendly. We’ll stay again on our next visit to sheffield.

The food was good and all the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Heating was the problem: the wall heater was broken and the air conditioner wasn’t working properly. They’d clearly noticed, since a small plug-in heater had been left in the room, but it wasn’t really enough to heat the space. Some areas need improvement, and I think it’s time they invested in the place.
