Greenhills Country Hotel

We stayed for nine days and ate at the restaurant every night. All our choices from the excellent restaurant and bar menu were delicious. The room was comfortable and well laid out, and the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. We got around Jersey by taxi, bus and on foot rather than hiring a car. I’d absolutely recommend this beautiful, comfortable hotel.

The meal at the hotel was a highlight of my one-night stay. I’d planned on a small bite before bed, but the lovely setting, attentive staff and excellent food kept me ordering. The bread and oil, scallop starter, pheasant main, chocolate ganache dessert and cheese were all spot on. It’s far from cheap, but worth every penny. There’s also a bar, a small lounge and a restaurant on the ground floor, and drinks came quickly. My room was spacious, beautifully decorated and homely, with a comfortable bed, good storage, a powerful shower over the bath and nice toiletries. It was all spotless, and the bottled water, drinks facilities and snacks were a welcome touch. I arrived early in the morning and they kindly let me into my first-floor room. There’s no lift, so check with the hotel if stairs may be a problem. The staff and service made this one of my most memorable recent hotel stays. It’s a short drive from the airport, with few other amenities nearby, but the hotel has what you need and the small grounds are lovely. The outdoor pool closes in winter, though it looked like a great place to relax with a book in summer. I was sorry to leave after just one night, and I’ll stay here again next time I’m in Jersey.

The Superior Rooms were a real treat, spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. After busy days exploring the island in our hire car, we liked coming back for drinks and dinner. The bar menu isn’t huge, but there’s enough choice, and the main restaurant has a separate menu. Meals were piping hot and delicious, with local produce used where possible. Breakfast had a good range and was delicious too. The staff were polite and attentive without overdoing it. Set in a quiet rural spot in St Peter's, it worked really well as a base for our first visit to Jersey. We spent three nights here and loved it. It won’t be my last visit.

We had a fabulous stay at Greenhill Country House Hotel and would happily return. The rooms were exceptional, with tasteful design, and the garden was beautiful. The staff were always smiling and went out of their way to make everything easy and enjoyable. A special thank you to Carmelita Fernandes for helping us during our stay.
