The Royal Yacht

The hotel had plenty going for it: a spotless room with lots of amenities, fantastic breakfast and very polite, friendly staff every time we spoke with them. It's just a few minutes' walk from the town centre and bus station, too. But after two nights, I'm afraid I wouldn't return. We had no hot water on Saturday evening or Sunday morning. Staff came up both times to confirm it and said they'd contact maintenance, but that didn't resolve it while we were there. The hotel was busy because of a large birthday celebration, and we waited in the hallway for 20 minutes to get into breakfast. Once inside, there were plenty of tables, but not enough staff for the number of guests. Our room faced the street to the left of the property, with lots of bars and takeaways. On Saturday night it was noisy well into the early hours. Closing the window muffled most of it, but in summer I think that could have been a real problem. I know the street noise is outside the hotel's control. I'm just describing what happened during my stay.

The room was beautiful, breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful. A wonderful hotel, and I'd definitely recommend staying here.

We had a really pleasant stay at the Royal Yacht and Spa in Jersey, and would definitely come back. It's a stylish, well-located place to use as a base for exploring Jersey. The room was comfortable, though one evening a very friendly pigeon turned up unexpectedly. We gently escorted it out and all was well. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was excellent quality. Some background music drifted up now and then, but it wasn't too disruptive.

We moved up to the 5th floor and it was much quieter. The lower-floor rooms can be noisy because of the bar below. Still, a lovely hotel with friendly staff 😊.
