I needed a dog friendly place to rest and carry on my journey, and came across this one without reading reviews. It was easy to reach, in a good location, with on-site parking and a fair price. We got a warm welcome, and the resident dogs were beautiful, friendly, and curious. One even joined our short dog walks. The staff were lovely. The venue could use some tlc, but the bedroom was warm, comfortable, and a good size. There’s a nice little bar, and breakfast had a great selection. Definitely recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I skipped the restaurant because a function was taking place, and the menu in the room was just five dishes on an A4 sheet, so I ate elsewhere. The room felt dated, cold, and noisy. It was freezing, and although they provided a portable heater, it was so loud that sleeping was impossible. The bathroom extractor fan wouldn’t switch off either. The shower was cold and only reached lukewarm after running for 10 minutes.

The location was good and the staff were friendly, but the hotel needs a deep clean, including the duvets and pillows, and repairs to all the broken things. One room had noisy pipes, which the owner knew about, but they were still using it. I had to change rooms at 12 am. Not good. They should stick to using the good rooms and fix the broken ones.

The room was OK, but there was no hot water by the end of the day. For dinner, the restaurant could only offer pizza or a toastie, and our bedside light was wires hanging out of the wall with tape on the ends. Breakfast was good, but we probably won’t stay again.

The staff made us feel at home with friendly service, great food, and a 10/10 welcome. Our room was clean and really comfortable. We had an amazing stay at The Gray Manor Hotel, a real gem. We’ll definitely return.
