There was plenty of parking, and the town centre is walkable in around 10-15 minutes. A minibus ran between 6pm and 10.30pm on a Saturday night. Our room had a pleasant riverside view and was large and functional, though it lacked character in appearance. Water was provided. The bed was comfy. Bathroom amenities were limited, but reception could provide more on request. The shower head was a little awry, but did the job. The breakfast buffet had limited options, though what was there was cooked well and tasty.

We slept really well, and were upgraded to a riverside view room, which was much appreciated. The bar is small, with pleasant surroundings and a nice bar lady. Breakfast was pleasant enough, but they don’t do food all day, so check ahead if that matters to you. Salisbury cathedral is about a 10-15 minute walk away, and there’s ample free parking.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and there’s a nice bar with a good choice of drinks. We had an upgraded room, but the coffee in it was horrid. There was no iron or board in the room, though staff were happy to bring them up. For this level of hotel, I’d have liked a Nespresso machine or something similar, and a small fridge would have been handy. We skipped breakfast at the property because it seemed expensive compared with Salisbury options. The river views are lovely if you’re staying on that side. The shuttle into and out of the city centre is handy in bad weather or when dressed up for dinner. Otherwise, the walk is quick and pleasant, away from the main road.

The room was lovely, especially with the river view, and I really appreciated the help arranging a ground floor room because I needed one. We’re fairly light sleepers, though, and something on the outside wall disturbed us at night. I’m not sure if it was heat pumps or air conditioning units. I’d definitely stay again, but request a different room. Lovely hotel, and I look forward to visiting again.

I stayed overnight while working in the area. The location is great, and the staff were very friendly. The market square is a short 20 minute stroll away, but the hotel also offers a free shuttle drop off and collection in a brand new VW Transporter. Breakfast was plentiful, and the waitress was helpful and smiley. Recommended, and I’ll return next time I’m visiting the area.
