The kindness really stuck with me. I didn’t have coins for the wishing well, so the man behind the bar got three for the kids to make a wish. And when the play bus was temporarily closed, they gave all four children a chocolate selection box for Christmas. Such thoughtful touches! The food was affordable and came out quickly, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. Hot drinks had free refills and a great choice. Meals over £10 came with a complimentary salad from a fantastic salad bar, not just a bowl of leaves. There’s also a little Stonehenge outside for kids to play on, and free parking across the road. What a delightful surprise!

We had a horrible stay, and ended up leaving in the middle of the night to find another hotel because we had no working toilet and no way to reach anyone. Even an empty flush took three tries, and after I used it, it wouldn’t flush at all despite several attempts. We called the hotel and were told someone would come soon, but after several hours away, nothing had been fixed. At 10:30 the pub was already closed, though it was supposed to stay open until 11. Our calls to both the regular and emergency numbers, and the email address listed, got no response. I had to take my younger brother to use the small, not very clean pub bathroom. The next day, staff accused us of flushing wipes, which we absolutely hadn’t done. We didn’t have any wipes, and I was the only person who used the toilet. When they finally responded, they were rude and accused us of something we didn’t do. There were also three spiders during the roughly two hours we spent in the room, plus dust and webs in several places. Awful customer service and an overall terrible experience. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel near Stonehenge.

They put on a karaoke night on the busiest night of the year, when families staying for the Stonehenge solstice needed to be up before sunrise. Their entertainment meant guests couldn’t sleep. Don’t book this hotel for the solstice. Pick another hotel or inn. They don’t care about you. When I complained, I was told to deal with it and asked what I expected. Please don’t give them your money.

We enjoyed our stay in the family room. It was spacious, clean, and good value, with a large, tidy bathroom. You can sometimes smell food through the windows, but there’s a pub downstairs, so that’s understandable. It’s an old historic building, and you can feel its character, with some English traditional touches and a bit of modern comfort. The owner might be able to tell you exactly how old it is. The interior and atmosphere may not suit everyone, and that’s fair. I’d read mixed reviews, and people will see a place differently. Breakfast isn’t included, though there’s coffee in the room whenever you want it. If you know ahead of time, you can bring croissants or eat somewhere nearby in the morning. Our toddler especially loved the double-decker bus turned into a soft play area and didn’t want to leave. Come with a positive mindset and you’re likely to have a lovely stay.

The food was greasy and cold. That’s the second time in the past year I’ve had awful food here. It used to be one of the nicer places around, but this pub has gone seriously downhill.
