I came for the motorbike racing at Olivers Mount. My ground-floor room was clean and stayed lovely and cool on what was the hottest day so far. Breakfast the next morning was good, and I couldn't fault the stay. The staff, or owner, I'm not sure which, were very helpful. I'd definitely come back.

We were told there'd be no breakfast service, but then takeaways weren't allowed and the dining room was shut, so it wasn't clear where we were meant to get food. There wasn't even a fridge in the room. After a good first day and an easy check-in, things got awkward when we came back late. We had some music on, not loudly, and I was talking on the phone to my friend, who had my son. Soon after, someone knocked and said we were too loud, though we really weren't. We turned it all down anyway. We were only watching TV and trying to enjoy a little break, but the next night we kept quiet, with no music or talking, after being moaned at. It spoiled our time away. If guests are expected to be quiet and turn in early, that should be made clear. The room was very small, with hardly any space either side of the bed. If you don't want people watching TV, that's a shame, because that's all we were doing. 🙃

We were in town for a wedding and stayed two nights, from the 17th to the 18th of May. The room was clean and the lady was very friendly. They couldn't serve breakfast because of a staffing problem, but we found somewhere about five minutes down the road. I'd stay again.

Getting into Scarborough town centre takes about a 20-minute walk. For anyone heading to Olivers mount for the road racing, it's around 5-10 minutes by car or 25 minutes on foot. The staff were excellent with customers and nothing seemed too much trouble. My room was faultless, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was fantastic.

We spent the bank holiday weekend at the MOUNTVIEW and had a fabulous stay. The rooms were spotless, nicely decorated and had very comfortable beds, and breakfast was superb. Ces greeted us and was an absolute delight, warm and welcoming, and really helpful. Special thanks to her!
