The hotel was good value outside peak periods, and the room was much as I’d expect from Premier Inn. Staff were generally pleasant, and the garlic and cheese pizzette was tasty, though it was partly frozen on my first night. I stayed for two nights in January and had to book an appointment for an evening meal, even though I was the only customer in the restaurant. In the morning, the croissants were shrink-wrapped rather than freshly baked, which was disappointing. The lifts were also noticeably noisy, so I used ear plugs to get to sleep. But my main complaint was the awful volume of Heart Radio in reception and the restaurant. It was mostly irritating American pop, and the chef had a different station playing on another radio at the same time. That clash made it hard to relax under the “Eat, drink, relax” slogan. Even the Whitbread royalty-free tape would be better than Heart.

Breakfast was tasty and had lots of options, though waiting 45 minutes for the cooked choice on our second morning was far too long. The staff were lovely and helpful, and the location is great, very close to the seafront. Our room was comfortable but not especially clean, with lots of cobwebs and something questionable in the sink plug hole. We’d stay again and hope the room is cleaner next time.

Even with the awful weather, we thoroughly enjoyed our two-night January stay, and the meal deal was good value. The hotel is one of the best Premier Inn's we’ve stayed in, with friendly, professional staff who made us feel welcome. Special thanks to Tony and Reece, who ran the bar and restaurant in the evenings and kept up some good friendly banter.

I stay in Premier Inns around the country a lot for work, and the restaurant at Premier Inn Seaton Hotel was one of my best experiences. Chloe was attentive from the start and kept on top of things when I came down to eat later. I’d chosen something that wasn’t available and casually mentioned I’d been looking forward to it, but I was fine picking something else. Chloe took the initiative to check with Tony in the kitchen, then came back with an alternative that was even better than my original choice. Chloe and Tony were thoughtful and caring, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. The service felt warm and genuinely human. Premier Inn should be proud of Chloe, Tony and Jodie, the team working that day. People like them make a real difference to a stay. Thank you, it was excellent.

The bed was super comfy, breakfast was alright, and I’d stay again, but I definitely wouldn’t eat a main meal there. The towel rail fell off the wall when I reached for a towel. The steak had no taste and looked like a cheap, thin supermarket cut. I also asked the next day for two towels, but none arrived. Dinner that evening was a disaster too. I ordered a plain cheeseburger, but it first came with everything on it. When it came back, they’d only scraped the sauce off the bun, so I still couldn’t eat it. I heard the waitress say, “she’s decided now she doesn’t want anything on it”. I know what I ordered, as I do it everywhere. I gave up, got up and went to Tesco for a sandwich. Another person in my party also had a dinner nightmare.
