The three-course dinner for £40 was excellent value, with a varied menu and freshly made dishes that were beautifully presented and cooked just right. We also had a lovely breakfast on Christmas morning, with crackers on the table. Bryn and Oxana gave us a warm welcome, and dinner in the comfortable dining room by the real fire was a treat after an aperitif in the cosy bar. We were travelling to family for Christmas and stayed on Christmas Eve. The remote, beautiful setting was exactly what we wanted, and our room and facilities were spotless, with a wonderful view from the window. Bryn and Oxana clearly care about high standards and hospitality, and the whole team helped make the trip memorable. Thank you all. We hope to visit again, and wish them every success.

The flowers were a lovely touch, fresh tulips in our room and daffodils on the tables, and the owner-chef regularly came out to chat. Everyone was smiling and friendly, and nothing seemed too much trouble. We had a large, comfortable room and stayed for two nights. Every course was delicious, as was breakfast. That personal attention made the stay feel special. I’d recommend it for a night away or simply a meal.

We felt relaxed from check-in right through to leaving after our two nights at the Gordon Arms. Bryn and Axana were lovely hosts and always ready to help. The hotel was spotless, the service was exceptional, and we really enjoyed the food. We’ll definitely come back.

We’d planned to stop for a really nice lunch after driving for three hours on the back roads, but left feeling like garbage. As soon as the woman saw my work clothes, she looked me up and down and said they didn’t serve sandwiches or anything like that, only a high-class lunch menu. It felt like we were judged the moment we walked in, as if she thought we couldn’t afford to eat there. The place and the woman were embarrassing. I can’t even give it one star. Don’t stop or waste your money here.

A lucky find on our drive back from Scotland. We were looking for somewhere to break up the journey and came across the Gordon Arms. The location was beautiful, the room comfortable, and both the food and service were outstanding. Thanks, Oxana and Bryn, for a great stay 💛
