Premier Inn Maidstone/Sevenoaks

Even with the issues, I had a very good stay. The staff were lovely, and they went above and beyond for my friend, who has severe allergies, making sure she was listened to when ordering breakfast. I’d stay again, as it’s only five minutes from family in borough green, though the accessible room definitely needs changing. I booked a ground-floor room advertised as accessible because I’d had a major operation earlier this year. It had a lowered bath for using the overhead shower, but a wet room would make more sense and feel less discriminatory. I still had to take care getting in and out of the bath. The shower pressure was also really poor and needs fixing. I’d read a review mentioning poor soundproofing, and I can relate. During the middle of the night I could hear the person above me walking around.

The water pressure at this Premier Inn is a bit low, which was the only downside. Otherwise, the staff were very nice, Laura made us feel welcome, and there’s plenty of parking. It’s also well placed for getting onto the motorway.

The receptionist made the kids feel so welcome, giving them books they loved and a welcome pack. Our room was nice and clean, with the beds already made and tea and coffee set out. From the moment we walked in, the receptionist was friendly, cheerful and very helpful.

The staff were brilliant, especially Laura at reception. She gave the kids a goody bag with colouring, bubbles and a little toy, which kept them entertained before bed, and she was helpful and understanding about the issues we had. The room was basic but clean, as you’d expect for the price, though air conditioning would be a real benefit. The location was alright, with a bit of road noise that wasn’t too bad. Breakfast was tasty and filling. Laura’s a real asset to the hotel.
