Breakfast was a letdown, with no juice, toast, fruit or Danish pastries, and we could order only one item. The room at the front had no double glazing, so it was very noisy. After a long day out, Friday night was awful: loud music banged on for three hours, and even a loud TV couldn't drown it out. Then there was furniture banging around at 7 in the morning. I won't stay here again.

The rooms were clean and fun to reach up those winding stairs in a very old building. Staff were fantastic, and breakfast was top drawer. We came for a gig a few buildings away and had a great evening meal before it. The place has a lovely old-meets-modern feel, with easy chairs that make you want to sit and have one more drink. Drink, stay, eat, it's all good. Give it a try, you'll thank me later 👍

I was searching for somewhere to eat with vegan options, and this restaurant really impressed me. The service was great, and the food was excellent all the way through, from the soup, focaccia and hummus to the vegetable wellington as the main event.

The staff were really friendly, and the peppercorn sauce was lovely. I stopped by for lunch, not to use the accommodation, and the meal was fantastic. My 8oz steak was cooked perfectly, with lovely background music that suited the venue's atmosphere.

The live music in the bar on Sunday night was a lovely bonus, and the cocktails were great too. We had a fantastic stay at the Loopy Shrew. The staff were welcoming and attentive, our room was comfortable with everything we needed, and breakfast was fabulous. Highly recommended.
