The staff were helpful, but staying here was a negative experience. Right from the start, things went wrong: the TV remote didn't work and the volume was stuck at maximum, and water dripped through the bathroom ceiling. The room was too hot during the heatwave, with no air conditioning, and outside noise from the busy main road carried on all night. Sirens, loud music and motorbikes were still audible even with earplugs. Wi-Fi was far too complicated to set up, and although there were four of us in the room, only two devices were allowed. It wasn't worth the money or the effort.

We were a bit anxious after booking and then reading the reviews, but the staff were exceptionally helpful and we had everything we needed. The room was perfectly clean, with no obvious mould or damp, and the traffic noise wasn't too bad either. For the price, we were pleased with our stay and would happily return.

The reception and rooms were so clean and welcoming that I felt safe and settled. I visited for a stay while seeing the hospitals, and next time I'll bring my dog, as there are lots of woodland walks around Southhampton. Remember to pay for parking wherever you go in town! I'd visit again if fuel prices aren't too high.

My dad is very poorly and in intensive care, so I called to cancel his booking. He can't make the call himself because he's sedated and on a ventilator. They offered no help or customer service at all. Disgusting way to run a money-grabbing business.

The room itself was okay, but it had a urine stain on the toilet seat, cigarette butts in the window, and instructions for a coffee machine that wasn't there. I was also asked to fill out an online survey about extra pillows and a duvet, though I didn't have either. Breakfast was hit and miss: the sausages were tiny, and my hash browns were chewy instead of crisp. Someone a couple of tables away had decent ones, so maybe it was just a bad day for the chef, or the defrost-and-cook routine. I paid for early check-in from 12 and arrived at 12:30, but was told the room had only just started being cleaned and had to wait until 13:15. Money wasted. Then there was what happened that evening. A sex worker arrived with her three-year-old daughter after apparently being stood up by a client. She showed nothing but disdain for the child, who spent hours wreaking havoc in the cafe/bar while her mother paid no attention. We helped clean up. Staff seemed to cater to the woman's needs and treated her like royalty, even putting her in a taxi. She was the talk of the whole bar, wearing suspenders and showing more crack than a guatamalan, and had left receipts in the toilet that showed her intentions. If adults want to relax, why are children allowed in the bar, or sex workers with children encouraged to visit? I was also told that a woman a few doors down had bed bugs, and staff apparently said they couldn't help it because foreign cruise ship guests bring them in. During my stay I met three people placed there as emergency housing by the council. That speaks volumes about what to expect. I expected budget, but not low quality.
