The Mansion House

We stayed in one of the cottages at the mansion house and absolutely loved it. It’s a great base for exploring around Holbeach, with the high street and local pubs within easy walking distance. I’d happily recommend it.

Sam and Richard gave me such a warm welcome when I arrived. They were wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The room was great, the bed very comfortable, and I had a wonderful night’s sleep. Breakfast was satisfying, with both continental and cooked options. My poached eggs were cooked perfectly. I’ll book the Mansion House Hotel again when I return to Holbeach.

The rooms are clean and well appointed, and breakfast was lovely. The owners are especially friendly and helpful. If mobility is an issue, I’d suggest booking a cottage, as some of the stairs in this lovely old building can be challenging.

The hotel is beautiful, cosy and clean, and it’s really well located, with everything you need within a five minute walk. What stood out even more was how caring the family who run it were. I’m a single mum travelling with two small children. After a long, difficult journey, we arrived late and were welcomed warmly. They helped us with our luggage and made sure our cosy room had everything we needed. Then I became unwell and had to ask to stay an extra night. They were completely understanding and went out of their way to look after me and the children. I don’t know how I’d have managed that difficult situation without such supportive hosts.
