Albany Hotel

We arrived late to check in, but the night porter was really helpful. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, and the receptionist was courteous and very helpful the next morning. Breakfast was fantastic. I’d recommend staying here and would come back.

As we toured Ireland and Northern Ireland, then made the trip to St. Andrews, we stayed in some very nice places. The Albany was my favourite of them all. The staff were incredibly nice and treated us with genuine kindness. Our upstairs room was very nicely appointed, and breakfast downstairs was wonderful and excellent.

It’s a small hotel in a great central spot. The rooms are somewhat dated and small, but still comfortable. There’s no elevator, so if stairs are difficult for you, ask for a room on the first or second floor. Breakfast was lovely, five stars or even six. I’d definitely return.

The location is great, and the service was great too. There’s good storage for golf clubs in the lobby. But the place is a dump, the breakfast isn’t great and the breakfast service feels sketchy. The shower temperature control is awful, and there’s no AC. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.
