Really good food and brilliant service when I stopped in for a quick Friday dinner. Seb was especially attentive and had my daughter laughing. Glad to have such a good pub nearby.

We dropped in while passing through and had a lovely time. The food was great, and Seb was a huge help with my gluten allergy, showing me how to scan the menu and talking me through everything. Thanks so much. It's reassuring to know a St Austell pub offers so much for people with gluten allergies, and I'd definitely go back.

The food was disappointing, with some of it cold and some hot, and it wasn't worth the long wait. Our starter never arrived, even though the person at the bar had repeated it back when we ordered. Later they said it hadn't been ordered and apologised, but offered no compensation while everyone else at the table had their food. Our chips were cold alongside the mains, too. We waited around 15 minutes without knowing whether to order at the bar or wait for table service, then had to go and ask. At first, staff were chatting among themselves and didn't acknowledge us. When we asked for a menu, they pointed to the ones at the bar without explaining anything. We sat where we thought we could, only to be told after we'd settled in that the table was for pre-booked guests and we had to move across the pub. Nobody checked on the food. Staff seemed more interested in gossiping, talking with friends, or standing around on their phones. The place felt poorly managed and unprofessional. Terrible service and a very disappointing visit. Wetherspoons level food at five times the price, with no service at all. Avoid at all costs.

The car park is roomy, but its cobbled surface could make it hard for less able people to walk safely. Inside, the restaurant had a nice atmosphere, and my Sunday roast beef was tasty, though only warm. The crumble tart was good too, but the custard was lukewarm at best. Service was slow, with a long wait for the food even though it was quiet.
