The White Hart Hotel

The chicken, Indian style, and fish were completely uninspiring, as if they'd come straight from the microwave. We arrived at 19:55 and ordered; the waiter was very friendly, but seemed to forget our food order. At least the beer came right away. After an hour we asked when the food would arrive and were told five minutes, which turned into 15. The newly hired? girl seemed to be trying to make it work. It felt a bit too much like Faulty tower.

Parking was great, the food fantastic, and our room was clean and good. We stayed three nights over Xmas and had a lovely break for a really good price. The staff were efficient and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. We were upgraded without asking, which was a nice surprise. Thanks to you all.

Really handy for town and the station, with helpful, friendly staff and decent food at a good price. Fabulous service, especially from Andrew, who deserves special thanks for being outstanding.

The kitchen did a great job: my roast was lovely, perfectly cooked and clearly made with care. The service, though, made the meal unnecessarily difficult. Our waiter was rude, disorganised and unprofessional, and the orders weren't taken correctly. The lack of attention to detail left us frustrated and spoiled what could have been a fantastic experience. Front-of-house service needs serious improvement. The young male trainee was very attentive and made things a little more bearable.
