We came back for Sunday roast, and it was every bit as good as hoped. The Staffordshire Roast Sirloin of Beef was tender, cooked perfectly, and one of the best roasts I’ve had. On my first visit, I tried the Monkfish and Prawn Panang Curry, which was delicious and full of flavor. There’s a great choice of beers, and my Guinness was poured perfectly. The decor is stylish, cozy and welcoming, and the friendly, attentive staff make you feel right at home. Whether you fancy curry or a traditional Sunday meal, this place is a must-visit. We’ll be back soon.

The food was good, which makes it a shame that the service was so poor. We took friends for an evening meal, and it took a while before anyone took our order. Then just three of our four drinks arrived. We had to go to the bar for the rest, and there was no table service. When we got there, the bar staff were standing around talking or staring into space instead of serving, and we had to ask for a drink. We’ve experienced the bar staff standing around on several visits, so it’s a regular problem. We’ll think twice before booking a meal here again.

The atmosphere is still relaxed after the changes, and the place has been redecorated to a high standard with some new tables and chairs. I knew it had changed hands and is now owned by Davenports. The menu is a good mix of pub classics and less usual dishes like venison and monkfish curry. On my first visit, I had beef ragu with pasta cooked perfectly, while my friend had a beef burger. Great pints of larger too. I’ve already booked another visit after a lovely meal. The second visit was just as good. I had the chicken tikka kebab with a fabulous sauce, yogurt and rice. Gemma and Megan were helpful and friendly when I called a couple of times to change the booking, and sent a text straight away to confirm the changes. Excellent service.

A cozy pub with lots of separate spots to sit, so it feels quiet even when it’s busy. The menu is really extensive and different from the usual chains. Everything we had, from starters to mains and desserts, was spot on, cooked perfectly and super tasty. Can’t fault anything, and the service was excellent.
