Black Horse Beamish

Maple was a quirky, high-quality room, with a huge comfy bed and a lovely tub. Having a swim around at bath time felt pretty luxurious! Breakfast was included, with plenty of choice and good service. The place is great value and we couldn't fault it, especially handy for visiting the Beamish museum.

The food was outstanding, and our guests are still sending compliments. A few even said it was the best beef they'd ever had. The chef was incredible, though I'm sorry I can't remember his name. Sophie, our wedding planner, went above and beyond to keep everything running smoothly. All the staff were fantastic, the rooms were beautiful, and nothing was too much trouble. We had our wedding on 31.12.2025 in the Orchard Marquee, stayed two nights with our bridal party, and many guests stayed on the wedding night too. I’d been a bit apprehensive after a few teething problems beforehand, but those worries disappeared on the day. The venue is stunning, especially with the countryside views. Our photos with the valley behind us are amazing, and the sun came out across the valley just as we said I do. We're so pleased we chose The Black Horse. It was the most amazing day of our lives, thanks in large part to the staff. Thank you so much, Mr & Mrs Davis.

We had a great bank holiday stay, and they kindly let us park our motor home here. The drinks were quality, and the food was fantastic for the prices. The Black Horse Burger and Sunday featherblade beef were the standouts. Henry deserves a special thanks for his service, recommendations and for making the visit memorable. Highly recommended, we'll be back!

The staff were warm and welcoming, and the food was full of flavor. Our room at black horse beamish had loads of character and felt beautifully thought through, with every detail seeming high quality. It was such a relaxing, memorable stay, and I'd happily return.
