Cromlix Hotel

We meant to head out and see the nearby castles and cathedrals, but honestly, the hotel was so lovely we barely wanted to leave. We spent two nights relaxing by the fires with cocktails, and the food and attentive, delightful staff were both fantastic. They lend out wellies and jackets for walks around the grounds, which was a nice way to work off some of what we'd eaten. Such a stunning place for a relaxing break. We'd highly recommend it.

We only came in for a meal, but had such a good time I'd happily return. The service never felt rushed, and everyone working there was genuinely pleasant. I had the rump steak with garlic potatoes, which was so tasty. My partner loved her sea bream too.

We drove an hour and a half for an 80th birthday meal, and the baby grand piano made for a lovely end to the day. One of our group was allowed to play a few songs, and it sounded fantastic. Even some of the staff commented on it. The staff were wonderful throughout, and the venue itself is gorgeous. There were some problems with dinner. It was freezing because the central heating wasn't working, and several guests kept their coats on. Most of us ordered steak. The steaks tasted good, but arrived only warm, and one was more cooked than requested. They remade the whole meal for that guest and got it perfect, so I can't fault how they handled it. We'd definitely return in warmer weather.

The place felt happy from every direction, whether it was the guests, visitors, staff, dogs, red squirrels or tree creepers. The hotel is beautiful, the food is spectacular, and the staff are exceptional. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Cromlix, one we won't forget. I can't think of a reason you wouldn't love it.
