We'd definitely stay at Harbour Cottage again. It's roomy, comfortable and well equipped, with two lovely upstairs bedrooms and a ground-floor bathroom and shower. The kitchen has everything you need, and there were coffee, tea and biscuits waiting for us. Despite being right across from the ferry, it's very quiet, and everything in Stromness is within walking distance. There's a parking space right outside the door. Dave was very helpful before we arrived, gave us clear directions after our GPS kept sending us to the wrong street, and made late-ferry check-in easy. He also shared lots of useful tips on food and things to do.

This was our third visit, and we love both Stromness and the cottage. It's a comfortable, well placed place to stay, very close to the ferry terminal. David, the property owner, is very helpful. We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

It's compact and convenient, and we found it welcoming from the moment we came in, with music playing, lights on and a fire effect. The rooms are comfortable, and the sitting room has lovely sofas. It's very handy for the ferry but quiet, with a well equipped kitchen and washer dryer, Wi-Fi and a super television, though we're not big TV watchers. My friend, who booked, had no trouble reaching the owner by email and got a quick reply. The Ferry Inn, Co-op, Hamnavoe restaurant, Julia's Café, Pier Arts Centre and museum are all an easy walk away. Would recommend 100%.
