Terry was a great host, showing us around the house and sharing some of its history. There’s so much to take in, with beautiful old decoration and features in every room. The antique brass bed in our brilliant, clean room was gorgeous and very comfortable. The walls were padded and covered in material rather than wallpaper. You could stay a month and still miss some of the details. The property is right by a busy main route, so the location isn’t ideal, though the house itself was surprisingly quiet. Parking wasn’t an issue for us as we were the only guests that night. If it’s fully booked, I can see spaces becoming a problem if people don’t park considerately or plan ahead. Breakfast had a good selection, and Terry offered to cook something if we wanted. He was very accommodating, and the house had a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend staying here.

The hosts were really accommodating and went out of their way to help, including with laundry, freezer space and local advice. The building has lots of character, which may not suit everyone, but I’d get bored if every stay followed the usual mainstream hotel pattern. A short visit, but one I’ll remember. Thanks, and I hope to come back.

The gardens were beautiful, and there was a games room available. It was well located for my trip and very good value, with fantastic hosts. Parking could be better, but everything else was great. I’ll definitely use this place again if I’m in the area.

Such a distinctive home, full of history and original features, and the hosts made us feel very welcome. It’s an amazing place to stay. We’ll be back. x

Terry and Lynette made us feel right at home and were perfect hosts. The guest house was a lovely place to stay. The new sauna in the games room is a great addition, alongside the hot tub, pool table, table tennis and just about every board game you could think of.
