The meal in the evening was superb, with a good-sized portion, though a little pricey. Breakfast costs extra, but you can add it if you want. It's well placed beside the Stadium of Light and within a short walk of the city centre. My room was contemporary, clean and a good size, with a roomy shower room, a very comfortable bed, excellent Wi-Fi and a hot, powerful shower. Check-in was quick and covered all the information. There are two lifts serving every floor. The car park is large and free, though across the road from the hotel. I'd stay again if I was in the area.

The hair in my dinner at the bar was a shame, though they apologized warmly, offered a full refund and another meal. Otherwise, a great stay: friendly staff, clean rooms, a comfortable bed and a great breakfast.

We had a warm, quiet, clean room on the third floor, with a powerful shower, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great too. There was plenty of parking, at £5 for twenty four hours. We chose the hotel because it was handy for visiting friends in South Shields, and enjoyed our stay enough to come back. The only small niggle is that the restaurant seats badly need recovering.

We needed a wheelchair accessible room with a wet room, and it was clean and lovely. They even provided a dog bed. The hotel itself was clean and friendly. Breakfast could have been better: some staff seemed uninterested, and the coffee machine and juice hadn't been topped up.

We came from Washington DC to see Sunderland play and stayed for 4 night. The room was a good size, very quiet, cozy and had a view of the stadium of light. The game was great, and afterwards we enjoyed spending time in the hotel with fans who'd come in for a drink. We also met some other Americans. The heating broke and made the room muggy, but staff offered us a move or fans. We chose fans, and they worked perfectly. With the staff's encouragement, my SO even met Wilson Isidor in the hotel restaurant. Johnny, Neeve (sorry if I'm spelling wrong) and Goddard were our dream team onsite, always willing to help. Their warm welcome and care made this a fantastic stay. We'll definitely be back. ❤️
