We had a lovely party here for my daughter’s third birthday, and the staff, service, and room were all brilliant. But I’d warn people about booking the venue. We paid everything, including the deposit for the room hire and food service, and two months later the £100 deposit still hadn’t come back. Now I’m being accused of trying to pull a fast one, even though I have proof of payment and nothing has been returned. They’ve told me a cock-and-bull story about people trying to take advantage of them. It feels like companies want your money straight away but won’t return what they owe. This has ruined how I see the place. I’d stay well clear of using it as a venue.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and polite, but everything else about my stay was awful. Outside the building there was a strong smell like raw sewage, and indoors it was damp and musty. My bedroom was in terrible shape: holes in the walls were either left open or stuffed with toilet paper, there was mould around the window, dust everywhere, and stains and leftover food in the bedside tables. The mattress seemed years old and its springs no longer supported me. The shower pressure kept dropping, and the water swung between hot and cold every 30 seconds, so it was almost unusable. The fire exit door was broken and damaged, which felt unsafe. Guests were smoking in their rooms even though it was against the rules. When I arrived, I was told there’d be no food and no breakfast all weekend. I should have been told by email ahead of time. I was there for a sports training camp, and with no fridge in my room, I couldn’t store supermarket food. This was the worst accommodation I’ve ever had. The room and facilities were unacceptable, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

My heartfelt thanks to The Minworth Social Club and Lodge for catering Mom Eileen’s wake on 08/12/25. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the atmosphere felt warm and respectful. Everything ran smoothly and was handled with care. Special thanks to Luke, the manager, for his professional support throughout the day. He made sure it all went perfectly, which made a difficult time easier for our family. I’d highly recommend them for their service and hospitality.

I was here for one night on a business trip. The bed was clean, but felt more like a mat than a mattress, and there was mould in the bathroom. The room was freezing, with a draught coming through the closed window; the heater barely got mildly warm. The TV wouldn’t show any terrestrial channels, though I could hear the people in the next room thanks to the thin, unsoundproofed walls. Breakfast didn’t start until 8.00am, too late for my early start, so I missed it. Not a good stay, and I won’t book again.

The staff were lovely and, fortunately, they put our two rooms next to each other since rooms were available. But an error in the booking system meant our four-room booking wasn’t available, so we had to split up. The rooms were basic and extremely cold even with the heating turned up, because of the draughty windows. Towels and soap were provided, but there was no toilet paper.
