Travelodge Swindon Central

I didn’t see the rooms, so I haven’t rated them lower than expected, despite giving them five stars. I was only there to ask for directions to the bicycle shop entrance. I waited at the desk in the main lobby for over five minutes before anyone came out. When the woman finally arrived, she seemed already agitated and just said, “yeah,” instead of greeting me. I asked if the entrance to the recycles bicycle shop was inside because I couldn’t see one as I approached. She said, “go outside its on the corner,” then started walking away.

The room had what I needed for the price: a comfortable bed, clean bathroom and working TV, so it felt like good value. I was there in spring 2025, and the refurbishment work on the ground floor didn’t bother me. I was very happy with the stay.

We were going through a rough time, and the staff were a huge help. They were incredibly friendly and brilliant at looking after what we needed. Massive thanks to all of them.

The staff were really nice, but Travelodge seems to allow them very little room to provide service. If you arrive hoping to book a room, you can’t do it with someone at the front desk. You can’t change an existing booking there either.
