We slept well and had no trouble with the room overnight, but the rest of the stay felt pretty mediocre. The staff were kind and apologetic, and none of the problems seemed to be their fault. Still, we left disappointed and wouldn't return. We'd choose Tamworth Central with the Beefeater next door instead. Breakfast was meant to be part of our meal deal, but there was no hot food because there was no chef. One person in our party got porridge, apparently made by adding hot water, and it wasn't very tasty. Staff suggested asking reception about a partial refund. The night before, we ate at the Centurion restaurant next door. The food was nice, though the menu was very limited: mostly fish and chips, pizza or burgers, no steaks, and every dessert came with vanilla ice cream rather than custard. We felt you'd struggle to find things to eat there if you stayed longer than a weekend. Service was very slow, with just two staff on duty. At around 7pm on Saturday there were only about eight customers, including the four of us, and we waited by the empty bar for five minutes to pay. The hotel itself felt unusual compared with other Premier Inns I've stayed in. Reception seemed tacked onto the end of a corridor near the vending machines. The room was fine, with the usual tea and coffee, air conditioning, a shower over the bath and a TV from a cheap Chinese brand rather than the Samsung or LG sets I've seen in other Premier Inns. The modern push button switches and USB chargers also felt out of place.

I had a really pleasant week at the Tamworth south. The rooms have had a freshen up, and mine and the bathroom were very clean. Everyone working there was welcoming, friendly and professional, and they seemed to get on well as a team. The breakfast was spot on all week, and the food was hot and tasty, even allowing for it being chain food. There was only one draught lager, but a full choice of bottled drinks. Thanks to all the staff, keep it up.

We've stayed at this Inn several times over the last two years while visiting family, but standards have dropped a lot. On our most recent visit, the night of 26th December 2025, the sleeping area was okay, but the bathroom was in very poor condition. There was hardly any toilet paper and just one bath towel, so I had to go to reception for more. Nobody offered to refill the dispenser, and I had to figure out how to open it myself. The shower screen, which had been installed since our previous stay, was dirty, as were the areas around the taps. It clearly hadn't been cleaned properly for some time. When we checked out the next morning, no one was at reception to report any of this. I took pictures and followed the guidance for making a complaint, but got no reply, even though my WhatsApp message was read. Calling customer service didn't help either. The call seemed to go to a call centre abroad, and the person I spoke to couldn't seem to understand the complaint despite my explaining it several times. We definitely won't stay here again, and I wouldn't recommend it.

David made checking in easy and relaxed, and the hotel seemed really well organised. He was friendly and welcoming from the start. I was there for one night on business, and the location worked well for me. My clean, well kept room looked good, and the bathroom was great too. I ordered food to take back to my room, and David offered to watch out for the delivery and bring it up himself. Amazing guy. The friendly staff made the stay even more enjoyable.

Charlotte made my visit on the 19/01/26 a great one. She was friendly and attentive, and her professionalism and dedication really stood out. She suggested the beef stack burger, which was delicious and cooked just right. The team should be proud to have her. Highly recommend!
