Premier Inn Taunton Central - North

We both slept really well and felt rested for the journey home the next day. The staff worked tirelessly, were very polite, and handled a small problem we had well. The hotel is comfortable, though it looks tired and could use a little freshening up. We were only there overnight to break up a long drive, so the limited evening menu wasn't a problem for us. The restaurant attached to the Premier Inn has closed, and I heard the receptionist calmly manage a couple who were upset because they'd expected one to be open during their planned few-night mini break. It got a bit heated. Meals are basic: our chicken curry was essentially a microwave dinner. That's the company's doing, not the staff's. The fish and chips looked like better value. Breakfast was the usual Premier Inn spread, with a full English and continental options. No complaints from us, and we got the good night's sleep Premier Inns advertise.

Plenty of parking at the front and behind the hotel, and it was easy to find. It's a few minutes' drive to town. The rooms were a good size, clean, and quiet, and the buffet breakfast had a good selection, just what I wanted from a Premier Inn. The staff were friendly, though I hardly needed to speak with them since most things are handled online. The coffee machine was decent too.

The rooms are a great size and very clean, and I had a great stay. There were a couple of small issues, the phone charger didn't work and tape was holding the thermostat batteries in place. I'll be back.

Hannah at reception was friendly, but the meal deal menu had little choice, especially since none of the pizzas were available. I book Premier Inn every few months for trips with friends, and we keep running into the same issue: the rooms aren't together. Even when I email or call the hotel that morning after booking two rooms at once, we're usually put on different floors. It's very frustrating. At this hotel we were on the ground floor, and people walking above us made noise all night.
