Gill made us feel at home as soon as we arrived, while Brad was away. She looked after us so well at this lovely house and hotel that we’d never have guessed she didn’t run it all the time. We stayed at Tavistock House Hotel in early February 2026. It’s a real hidden gem, and it’ll be my go-to place in Tavistock when I’m visiting. Many thanks again, Gill.

The owners were so friendly and helpful, and breakfast was really nice. The rooms and the rest of the place are decorated and furnished to a very high standard. One of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. Highly recommend it, 10/10.

Bradley was such a welcoming host, and everyone else was friendly too. The breakfast was delicious, and the attention to detail throughout was superb. We had two lovely evenings at Tavistock House Hotel. It’s within walking distance of the restaurants and bars, and Tavistock even has a nightclub if that’s your thing. Would thoroughly recommend.

We loved the Annexe and the Cornish Arms, both excellent restaurants, and the location made it easy to get to good places to eat. Brad gave us a warm welcome and plenty of useful information about the area. Our two-night stay was delightful, with everything spotless and well presented and excellent facilities. I’m always pleased to find fresh milk in the minibar. We’ll definitely be back.

Brad couldn’t have done more to make me feel welcome during my few days here for work. The rooms are first class, spacious, clean, beautifully done, and have everything you need. It’s a perfect base for exploring the beautiful, wild Dartmoor National Park. I’d highly recommend it for a night or even a fortnight.
