I grew up in the area, so I’ve always loved this location. The service was friendly and wonderful, and the rooms were clean and spacious. It was ideal for our family with pets, and my dogs had a lovely time sniffing around.

We only managed one night at The Elmdene, which was a shame, but we’ll definitely return. Trev, the owner, welcomed us warmly and took time to explain the property, including the bar, breakfast and room features. His attention to detail really makes this B&B special. Everything was beautifully laid out, very comfortable and immaculately clean, with clear care and pride in how it’s maintained. The peaceful location is about a 10-15 minute walk from the main town. It was a great balance for us, close enough to explore Torquay’s attractions but away from the bustle. We discovered parts of the area we hadn’t seen and had a relaxing, chilled-out time. We’re looking forward to another visit. Highly recommended for a welcoming, peaceful, high-quality stay.

We’ve been three times, and each visit gets better. Our Christmas break made us feel like part of the family. Best breakfast I’ve had, and I’ve stayed in plenty of places. Well done, Kim and Trevor. See you again in 2026.

Kim and Trevor are very friendly hosts, and the breakfast was amazing. Kim even sent us off with freshly baked scones for our long walk. The hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood, just a short walk from the seafront. Highly recommended.

Kim and Trevor were wonderful, and we felt very welcome from the start. It was our first time at the Elmdene. The room was clean and tidy, and breakfast was amazing. We’ve already booked to come back next year. Everything was great.
