We’ve stayed here a few times before, but this weekend was a shocker, and not the relaxing post-Christmas break we’d planned. The second night, people in the room next door were singing, shouting, and arguing from 4 in the morning. The night man tried to deal with it, but we only got an hour of quiet. Breakfast back at our hotel the next morning was poor, with no choice, and the sausages were lukewarm and foul tasting. At check-in we paid to add breakfast for both mornings. Then the man checking us in said we’d have to walk five minutes downhill to the sister hotel, because ours wasn’t busy enough to serve breakfast itself. Not a great start. Our room was clean and welcoming when we arrived late, so we let that go. The next morning, workmen renovating directly above us started at 7am, and we were out by 8. A couple of hours later, after we’d calmed down, a helpful man at the desk listened to our concerns and offered us a different room for the second night. We thought that was great, but it turned out even worse.

The staff were friendly, and I’d stay again for a night or two, but not longer. The hotel is handy for the BIC, where we went for our daughter’s graduation ceremony. We paid £130 for five people, so it was very basic, as you’d expect at that price. The double room was nice, with a clean, modern ensuite, but the family room with triple beds and its bathroom looked as though they hadn’t been redecorated since the 70s. Bedding looked clean but didn’t smell fresh. Book directly with the hotel if you want to make sure parking is free. We booked through Booking.com and had to pay £12 for the night.

Breakfast was fine, but the dining area was FILTHY. When we checked the room for our belongings before leaving, we found a used condom packet on the floor beside the bed. PUTRID, VILE, and not ours. The first night was a night of hell. Screaming and banging from another room kept us awake and left me too scared to move until 6.45am. Another guest was at reception complaining too, and he was so frightened he checked out immediately. There was no apology. The disgruntled receptionist tried to say it was someone on the phone, but it sounded like someone was being killed and trying to get into our room. I asked for an update later that morning and got nothing. The rooms were filthy, and the bathroom radiator didn’t work at all. The other radiator took three hours to warm up. DO NOT BOOK.

In April 2025, yep, a bit late reviewing lol, my partner and I stayed for two nights. We paid at check-in, then went up to a room that was dirty, smelly, and very outdated. Two months later, they tried to take the charge from both our accounts. My card was saved on the booking, so they tried that first, then my partner’s too. I called and complained several times, and even sent proof we’d paid on arrival, but they kept attempting the charge. Don’t stay here. Bournemouth has plenty of better places that are still affordable.
