Travelodge Torquay

Reception were so friendly and explained the parking for us. Our room and bathroom were very clean, warm, and had a comfy bed. We really enjoyed our overnight stay. The plus room costs a little extra, but the hot chocolate and KitKat made it worth it.

The staff were friendly, and the hotel was good value, with clean, quiet rooms. The cooked breakfast could have been warmer.

I arrived at 1pm on 30/10/2025, and the receptionist agreed to check me in early for £15. I had no complaint about that, but the stay quickly went downhill. The toilet flush in the bathroom didn't work and was literally sticking out of the wall. That room shouldn't have been in service. There was no soap because housekeeping hadn't checked the dispenser before check-in. Housekeeping knocked at 10am the next morning and woke me, even though checkout was at 12. Maintenance came to the door at 10:30 as well. The place felt very poorly organized. Why can't staff do this work when guests aren't there? I left early, at 11, just wanting to get out, and handed the key to reception. She thanked me but didn't ask how my stay had been. I wouldn't return. I've stayed at Travelodge in London, Leeds, Scarborough, and Ramsgate, and never had this happen elsewhere. Avoid.

For a basic room with basic services, I can't complain too much. But the rooms we first got were dim, poor, and noisy, though the receptionist was helpful in moving us to a slightly better one. In general, the place could easily be updated for what it costs. My family and I booked two separate rooms for four nights at £445.92. Parking was another £24 at £6 a night, with no guaranteed space. Paid WiFi cost £30 and was unstable, with a poor signal and hardly any other option. Complimentary breakfast added £167.20, taking the total to £667.12. For comparison, the seafront Premier Inn would have been £673.84 for the same or better services and a better location, just £6.72 more. Something to think about. As Travelodges go, this is one of the worst I've stayed in, and the parking situation is a massive, frankly outrageous oversight that needs fixing.
