The Highdown Inn

The staff and customer service were excellent, and our room was comfortable, though a bit small and dated. It was reasonably priced with a decent breakfast included. We stayed one night while walking around the Isle, and the pub was well located for us, but getting there and around the area means walking along country roads for a while. Dinner was very good value, and there was a good local beer selection alongside the best pint of Guinness on the island. The non-alcoholic options were a little limited. There’s lots of outdoor seating, but book if you want to eat inside. We were lucky to get a table.

We stopped in on our way back from The Needles and were pleasantly surprised. Sat outside in a lovely setting, and the food was delicious. The staff were attentive, knew their stuff, and made us feel welcome. We’ll definitely come back.

We stumbled across the place after a walk on the coastal path and sat in the garden on a glorious day. There was a road nearby, but it was very quiet, and the little pond and water feature made the setting even nicer. The menu had a wide choice, including several lobster dishes as a local speciality. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

A lovely, cosy pub with very good food and really friendly, easygoing staff. I’d especially recommend the fish curry, it’s a great alternative.
