The room had a strong damp smell, with visible black mould by the windows and on the bathroom ceiling. There was no bathroom ventilation, coffee and tea marks on the walls, and lots of dust around the lamp and wardrobe. Maintenance work was going on, with loud noise from early morning, so getting any rest was difficult. We came because it was near Uni and a friend recommended it. The receptionist didn't seem welcoming. She rattled off the entrance and room codes very quickly and gave us nothing in writing. There are no keys or cards, so anyone who knows the PIN can get into the room. I didn't feel safe at all. Sleeping in your car might be better. Not recommended, a terrible experience, and overpriced for a place like this.

There's virtually no service, and the rooms aren't somewhere you'd want to stay more than one night. Cleanliness in the room was minimal. The worst place to stay.

I spent six days here and felt very relaxed. The room was clean, modern and had a shower. The location is really good, with shops all around and the town centre a 10-15 minute walk away. A 24-hour petrol station, five minutes by car, came in handy too. There are bus stops in every direction, just a 20-second walk, and plenty of parking if you drive. The staff were polite and kind, and made me feel welcome. They also let me keep my bicycle somewhere safe. The owner was flexible on the price as well. I made a few reasonable offers and they agreed. I'd definitely stay again if I'm ever in uxbridge.

I've stayed in cheap hostels all over Europe, mostly hostels, and my standards are pretty low. I've never walked out of a hotel or hostel before, but there's a first time for everything. At £60 a night this is utterly ludicrous. Avoid like the plague. I did not feel safe. On arrival, the worker quickly took the pillows, then I awkwardly waited another five minutes for replacements. The new ones still had hair on them. The cup was the final straw, with lip marks, dust and general dirt on it. The hallways had rubbish, and the place was filthy. This “hotel” shouldn't be open to the public. They need to get a hoover and clear out the rubbish. There are no room keys or cards, just a keypad, so anyone who knows the PIN can enter. As a woman on my own with male workers and other men walking around, I didn't feel safe in the building. They called to ask when I'd arrive. I said around 7, and they said they'd send the entry code, but never did. I arrived at 7:15 and was told to wait 10 minutes for someone to come, so there was clearly no on-site staff, which was a red flag. Then I waited another 10 minutes while they made up or found a suitable room. One worker told me renovations had been going on for over a year, though reviews suggest they've been going on for multiple years. It just seems to be permanently disgusting. The pictures speak for themselves. I've concluded that the five-star reviews must be from the owners and their mates.
