The food here really surprised me. My slow-cooked pork belly was wonderfully sweet and delicious, and my wife’s spicy aubergine lasagna was a treat too. The puddings were small, but refined and full of flavour. We had supper here and loved it. The portions aren’t huge, but the flavours blew me away. A great pub. We’ll be back.

We got the winter deal: one night for £120 with bed and breakfast, plus the second night free. From arriving at 4PM on Monday, when the pub was quiet and Jack greeted us warmly, to settling the bill with Simon and leaving Wednesday morning, everything felt very relaxing. The food was delicious and top quality. I’d highly recommend the winter offer.
The roast we had in the pub for dinner was the best we’ve ever tasted, with incredible flavours. Our room was warm, clean, and lovely, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast before we left was tasty too. I’ve just returned from a night here with my husband, and the only downside is that it isn’t closer to home. Can’t fault anything!
The bar was warm and welcoming, with real fires, and our room was cosy thanks to the underfloor heating. The bathroom looked a little tired, though. We had two evening meals and three breakfasts over our three nights. The venison pie was one of the best I’ve ever had, and the local smoked salmon was delicious. All the staff were great, and the food was top quality. We had a lovely weekend, and I’d definitely recommend staying here again.
Went for dinner out of season and it was well worth the trip. The food was delicious, the staff were attentive and happy to help, and I had no complaints. I’ll definitely be back.
