The hosts made us feel at home as soon as we arrived, and their genuine care really made the stay. Our room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully presented. It’s in a perfect spot, and we had a fantastic time. We’d happily recommend this B&B and plan to come back.

The lounge has tables, so we could bring back a takeaway and eat there, which was handy with our dogs. There are some great pubs within a five-minute walk, and parking is available on the street or in a reasonably priced car park just up the road. It’s a really lovely place in a great location. The one letdown was breakfast: it was included when we booked, but the policy changed without warning. We were given £20 for two people and had to go out for breakfast, then bring it back. Magpies bakery opens at 8am and is excellent. Otherwise, it would have been five stars.

The confirmation clearly said breakfast was included, but instead they left only a £10 note for each of us. I booked well ahead, so they had plenty of time to email me about the change and let me cancel. There’s no excuse for that. They also said they’d text the entry instructions two days before we arrived, but no text came. With nobody on site, we were left at the door trying to get someone to answer the phone. The place is extremely overpriced and feels like a hostel. On the top floor, anyone over 5ft 9" will keep bumping their head on the beams. I’d recommend staying somewhere else. Shocking service.

Room one was just right for our three-night stay at the Quay. We made frequent use of the free coffee-making facilities in the cosy, comfortable lounge, which has a really relaxed feel. Will and Tina were perfect hosts, and the location was excellent. We’ve just got home and would definitely stay again.

The rooms were comfortable, though small. There was no breakfast despite it being advertised, and there weren’t any staff on site. With self check-in through a key box, the place felt more like an Airbnb than a traditional B&B.
