We spent a birthday weekend at Mousetrap in Wells, and the four of us had a wonderful time. The cottage felt warm and comfortable, with everything we needed. Pubs, restaurants and shops are just a five-minute walk away, and there are beautiful walks nearby. Thanks, Carl, for being such a good host.

We’ve come back several times for the October half term. The cottage is roomy, clean and tidy, and has everything you need for self-catering. Its location means we can leave the car in the space for two cars and walk into the village or down to the harbour. There’s also a local bus that runs along the Norfolk coast. ☺️

The Mousetrap worked well for our three-generation weekend, and it had everything we needed. My husband uses walking sticks because he’s disabled, but he had no trouble getting around. We enjoyed being able to walk down to the quay, and the coast road made it easy to drive in either direction. We were lucky enough to see the new lifeboat, the Duke of Edinburgh, launch into the sea. My father’s name is on its side, which made it a very emotional moment. We’d definitely recommend staying here.

We had a great weekend at the Mousetrap while I was taking part in a triathlon. It’s easy to get to places for running, cycling and swimming in the channel, and the facilities include somewhere outside to lock up bikes and dry wetsuits in the courtyard. Afterwards, we enjoyed the quayside coffee shop and the choice of pubs nearby.

The walk to the harbour through the old streets is lovely, and the cottage is in a great spot. Inside, it’s spacious, tastefully furnished and very well equipped. The heating worked efficiently, so it was nice and warm, and the information sent before our stay was excellent. I’d stay again.
