Premier Inn Dumbarton/Loch Lomond

The late checkout at noon was much appreciated, and I felt totally relaxed before my long drive home. I slept really comfortably, and breakfast in the morning was wowwww, with loads of choice, regular top-ups, and attentive staff. We booked dinner, bed and breakfast. Dinner was good, though I’m not keen on the kitchen using frozen vegetables. Everything else was great, and it was the kind of great Premier Inn experience I’ve come to expect.

The room was tidy, clean, and lovely and warm with the heating on. I was very impressed with the new onsite restaurant The Social, which was much handier than the usual pub next door. The meal was delicious, and the table service was friendly. Staff were polite and efficient from the moment I walked in. I’ll stay again when I get the chance.

The shower was a bit frustrating, with weak water pressure and a temperature that kept swinging from hot to cold. The rooms have the standard Premier Inn style, though they’re beginning to look dated and could use an update. We were first given a room with no working heating, but the staff dealt with it well and moved us to another room the next day, which fixed the problem. The location made getting around easy, with motorway links nearby and plenty to do in the area. There’s also a petrol station in the same business park with Greggs and Subway for a quick bite. Staff were friendly, helpful, and professional throughout. At breakfast, the chef kindly made vegetarian sausages and eggs to order just how we liked them, a thoughtful touch we really appreciated. It was a pleasant stay with excellent service, and we’d happily return.

The hotel was clean and warm, and everyone was happy to help. Alastair and Kim were especially welcoming when we arrived, as several guests were checking in at different times. My daughter is gluten intolerant, and all the catering staff knew their allergens and cross contamination procedures well. Brilliant place to stay. Well done Dumbarton/Lomond team, you’re brilliant.
