The staff were so kind and thoughtful, and everything about the service and food was great. We brought our 95-year-old mother in her wheelchair, and getting her inside and settled at a table was no problem. They made the Sunday lunch feel really memorable, and I’m very grateful.

Wayne & Staff made our wedding day meal feel really special. The food was amazing, and the service was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We’d certainly recommend this place for a private event. Thank you so much. Davina & Paul Bowley

Our waitress was very good, but the pub felt cold and unwelcoming when we arrived for Sunday lunch. We ordered two suet roasts, one lamb and one beef. The suet was pale and undercooked, though the filling was very nice. The lamb was just okay, while the beef was tough. There was hardly any veg, I think I had one slice of carrot. Desserts were okay. With drinks, it came to £80 for a couple 😯

The on-site pub was pleasant, efficient, and the food and service were enjoyable. We were especially impressed by the young lady serving, who was brilliant and seemed a natural at customer service. The next morning, we walked around the local area, which was incredibly pleasant, interesting, and historic. We stayed in room 1. It felt nicely separate from the other two rooms, which was a great feature, although I think we were the only guests anyway. It was a nice room with views in two directions, towards the park on one side and lovely historic buildings on the other. There was a great selection of continental breakfast in the room. One heater didn’t seem to work, but the bathroom heater and the other room heater were adequate. A very pleasant stay, thanks to everyone. We’d most certainly return and would wholeheartedly recommend this place.

The log fire was on, the staff were lovely, and it was a great pub. We popped in for lunch after someone recommended it, and the food was excellent. Loved it, thank you. We’ll definitely return.
