We booked two nights at the Rosita from 24 December while visiting family nearby, but left after the first night and found somewhere else because the filth was so bad. We don't usually write reviews, but after seeing the price and getting two prompts from the hotel to review, we feel we should warn others. The place is marketed as four-star, but it was nowhere near that standard. It was indescribably dirty. Dust had built up on the skirting boards, and there was grime on every surface people touched. The shower and bathroom were covered in mould, and there were hairs from the previous guest shaving all over the sink. At breakfast we couldn't find a glass or cutlery that wasn't coated in muck. The placemats looked as though they had never been cleaned since they were bought, and little flies seemed to be everywhere around them. Breakfast was poorly cooked too: the sausages were white and the hash browns were barely cooked from frozen. Since it was Christmas Day and the staff were friendly, we chose not to complain at the time, though normally we would have, because the dirt was unacceptable. This was a complete waste of money. Don't stay here or trust the four-star rating.

We had the dates wrong on our booking, but Sheila and Phil were understanding and made everything work out perfectly. The hosts were welcoming and friendly, and the rooms felt like home, clean and comfortable. I loved the attention to detail, and breakfast was delicious. Great location too. Definitely recommend. Thanks, see you again. Ruth & Malcolm

The location is excellent, close to the beach, shops and restaurants, and we had a lovely stay with very good hosts. Sheila cooked a delicious breakfast, especially the bacon. Thanks, Sheila and Phil. Sheila welcomed us on arrival and showed us our first-floor room. She explained breakfast and how to reach the beach and shops, which was much appreciated. Our room had a wet room, was a lovely size and very quiet, with a comfortable bed. It was spotless, with complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate, flapjacks, biscuits and toiletries. The soft robes and slippers were a nice touch, and the towels were large, soft and smelled lovely. One small comment, the curtains didn't meet. Phil had explained the parking when I called to book. You can park on the road or in the car park behind the guest house, on a first-come, first-served basis. There were no spaces outside when we arrived, so I waited about 20 minutes to park. The car park takes cash or payment by text, but no cards, and costs £7 per 24 hours, which is very reasonable. On our third day we found a space on the road. It wasn't really a problem, but I wanted to let people know.

The room was clean and tidy, and the accommodation was lovely. Our friendly, helpful hosts were happy to do anything for us. Breakfast was lovely with a good range of choices. We'd stay again.

The Rosita is a few minutes from the centre, with easy parking in a car park right behind the property. We enjoyed some lovely meals at places our hosts recommended, and we'll definitely come back. Highly recommend. We were curious to stay after seeing the Rosita on Four in a bed, and thought it should have won. Phil and Sheila were the sweetest, most helpful couple. Sheila came across as miserable on the show, but in person she was quite the opposite. Our room was huge and impeccably clean, with a really comfortable bed and a bright white, soft duvet. Breakfast was scheduled to suit us, freshly cooked and delicious.
