The Esplanade

The Esplande has beaten all my expectations. I’m incredibly fussy and have high standards, but the room was spotless, airy and quirky, with fresh service and a really spacious bathroom. The bed was sumptuous and incredibly comfortable, and the white fluffy towels and quality linen were lovely. I also loved the carpets on the stairs up to the rooms. Would I stay again? In a heartbeat ❤ Thanks for the lovely hospitality.

We were on the top floor in the family suite and loved the views over the bay. The decor was nicely modern and the beds were comfortable. There was a great choice of breakfast, delivered to our room because of covid. A lovely, friendly hotel.

Rob, the owner, went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. He upgraded us to a sea view room at no charge, allowed a flexible checkout, and fitted in an extra night at very short notice. His cooked breakfasts were delicious and he was on call if we needed anything. There’s also a spare lounge bar-room with a fridge stocked with drinks and nibbles at very reasonable prices. The hotel has character, excellent service and a fantastic location right opposite the beach, with pubs and restaurants a short walk away. Simply superb.

Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and we’d definitely return. From the outside, the hotel looks old fashioned, while our room seemed to have been refurbished recently. It’s in the town centre, across the road from the beach, and has free parking.
