Rosslyn House

Being just a two-minute walk from the beach and town made it easy to get out for a bracing beach walk or a gentle wander. Our Christmas stay at Rosslyn House was wonderful from beginning to end, and it was outstanding value for money. Tim and Kirstin clearly take great pride in making guests feel special, with thoughtful details like fresh milk in the room and little Christmas Day gifts. The breakfast room was beautifully done and spotless, and the freshly cooked food was to a very high standard. We ticked our choices the night before and got exactly what we'd ordered. One of the best places in Whitby for accommodation and value.

My partner and I spent three nights at Rosslyn House over Christmas and had a fabulous time. The hosts were lovely and so accommodating, always willing to help and never making anything feel like trouble. Everything was within walking distance, so getting around Whitby made for pleasant walks. We'd definitely stay again and recommend it to friends and family.

The local knowledge from Kirstin and Tim made our trip unforgettable. They know where to go in Whitby any night of the week, whether you're after live music, good food or a quiet pint with a view. As fellow motorcyclists and equestrians, they make it easy to feel part of the local community, with safe parking, good local ride routes and friendly conversation that made us want to stay longer. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel at home, and it's clear they're genuinely passionate about what they do. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and beautifully maintained, with thoughtful touches throughout. Breakfast was fantastic, made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and served with care every morning. Rosslyn Guest House in Whitby is hands down the best value stay in town, and the owners' warm, welcoming approach goes above and beyond. If you're looking for an affordable, clean, comfortable and friendly guest house, this is it. It deserves every bit of its five-star reputation. We'll absolutely be back and recommend it to everyone we know.
