Holiday Inn Express Wigan

The room was a good size, though the carpet had a few marks. The bathroom window had privacy glass, but I would have liked a blind so I could close it at night. Breakfast offered a good mix of hot and cold food, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great value, and I’ll stay again.

The cooked breakfast was pretty good, and the coffee was hot while the juice was cool and refreshing. I wasn’t keen on everything offered, but that’s down to my own taste, and I was happy with what was there. We’d accidentally booked a twin, but the staff gladly switched us to a double. Our room was close to the lift, which helped because I’m disabled and find walking difficult. You can have the room cleaned each day, or put the tag out to say it isn’t needed. It worked perfectly for us.

We were visiting from out of the area to see a show at The Edge venue in Wigan, and the £9 Uber taxi ride worked well. The B&B cost £97 for three of us, which was amazing value. Our room was spacious, clean and well equipped, the breakfast was incredible, and the staff were fantastic. Honestly faultless. I don’t know how they do it.

The rooms were quiet, and the blackout curtains made them nice and dark. There was a decent hot and cold breakfast, though a bit more choice would’ve been nice. For what we paid, that’s not a complaint. We booked this as a stop on the way to our next destination. The location was good, staff were welcoming, and the clean rooms had plenty of space. I’d book here again.
